CACOPHONY
"He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness, for His name's sake." Psalm 23:3
The tenor of the Psalm changes, as the Shepherd analogy takes on a decidedly spiritual note. Not only does the Good Shepher take care of our physical needs, but in doing so He makes possible the restoration of our soul.
When our hunger is satisfied, our thirst quenched and our body refreshed we are fully equipped to hear and follow the Shepherd. This doesn't mean there is no turmoil in our circumstances-despite the chaos of life, we hear and follow. Whether there be rain or sunshine, passion or pain, mourning or joy, the Good Shepherd restores us, fortifying our faith, giving us more and more grace.
